Description
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Specialty Solutions Architect with a focus on Regional NHS and Health-Tech customers to join our thriving technical community and growing business in the UK as part of the UK Public Sector Tech team. You will join a friendly and supportive team, working together to bring the latest in cloud computing technologies to our Public Sector customers, including: government agencies, state-owned companies, educational institutions, healthcare and non-profit organisations. Our Public Sector teams help customers build a deeper understanding of cloud technology and application architectures, so they can benefit from everything cloud technology has to offer.
Key job responsibilities
As AWS Solutions Architect, you will have ownership of the technical relationship with customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency and best-practice architectures.
Internally, you will be an advocate acting on behalf of the customer to help drive continual improvements to AWS services, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features and services. You will also help shape the future of the Solutions Architecture organisation by helping to hire, coach and mentor others, and find opportunities to improve the way we work.
In this role, your creativity will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to define and invent cloud-native reference architectures with the worldwide AWS Solutions Architect community.
You will own or participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelise and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
If you can educate AWS customers about the art of the possible, while imagining the impossible, come build the future with us.
A day in the life
Every day as a Solutions Architect is different. One day you could be building a Proof-of-Concept to show a customer the art of the possible, the next you could be writing content that helps our customers accelerate, the next coaching others on a technology you have expertise in. It’s a truly varied role, that allows you to play to your strengths.
About the team
This role is for our Healthcare team supporting our Regional NHS customers (ICS/ICBs and Trusts) and HealthTech team. Our team has continued to grow we’re delighted to have welcomed people from different backgrounds, bringing unique experiences to our team, and our customers. Our tenured Solutions Architects act as mentors, and share their vast knowledge and experience across our team. We’re all passionate about the impact we have every day on people across the UK, and we care deeply about our customers’ missions. We enjoy working together, in an environment that is supportive, inclusive and fun. We work hard, and respect that we all have responsibilities, and interests outside of work that we want to give our time and energy to. Our roles afford us the flexibility to be our best at work, and at home.
“Every day I appreciate the autonomy I have to deliver my role, the space I have to use my imagination and creativity, and the feeling that I am valued for the strengths I bring. I never under-estimate how fortunate I am to have the flexibility at AWS to do a great job, and spend time with my two children” – Holly Ellis, Director UK Tech Team.
