• Assist the Head Chef in the management of the kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu specifications.
• Ensure that the kitchen maintains high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
• Manage and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to the standards and practices set forth.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as necessary.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes.
• Handle food preparation and presentation efficiently under time constraints.
• Participate in tasting sessions and food presentations to ensure quality control.
• Assist with menu costing and controlling wastage.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by fostering open communication and collaboration.

Essential Qualifications:

• Relevant culinary qualification or degree from a recognized culinary school.
• Proven experience working as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality and restaurant industry.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Experience with menu development and costing preferred.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
