The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily kitchen operations while delivering exceptional food quality and ensuring our guests have a memorable dining experience.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and design, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members adhere to health and safety regulations, food hygiene practices, and kitchen protocols.
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared efficiently and accurately while maintaining consistency.
- Manage food inventory, including ordering and stock control to minimize waste and manage food costs effectively.
- Ensure the kitchen area is clean and organized, maintaining equipment and cooking utensils in good condition.
- Assist with kitchen administrative tasks including scheduling, payroll, and training of new employees.
- Engage with guests, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any dietary requirements or special requests.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in various cooking methods and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, leading by example.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar kitchen role.
- Experience in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and a flexible approach to working hours.
