Dufferin Construction offers a wide range of construction services that cater to the Heavy Civil, Commercial/Industrial, Municipal and Land Development market segments.You will be a successful addition to Dufferin Construction if you:

  • Have 10+ years of proven experience within the Municipal Civil Market.
  • Like to work independently, plan, schedule and manage asphalt paving Foreman, Asphalt initiatives and asphalt paving projects.
  • A minimum of 5 years as a leader who can successfully manage Civil projects and various levels of skilled workers all the while adhering to policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • General oversite of the companies Asphalt Paving Foreman.
  • Allocate work and supervise the Asphalt Paving Foreman to ensure the achievement of production targets, quality workmanship and health & safety.
  • Develop and maintain Asphalt Paving Schedule for all crews.
  • Collaborate and work with Operations and District Managers, Chief Estimators, Project Superintendent’s and project site teams.
  • Collaborate and work jointly with Asphalt Superintendents in other Districts.
  • Collaborate and work jointly with Asphalt Quality Control Department.
  • Collaborate and work jointly with Asphalt Plant Department.
  • Collaborate and work jointly with DCC’s Construction Regional Performance Committee & Performance Manager.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Asphalt Initiatives:
  • Cadence Calls
  • Regional Performance Initiatives
  • Paver Tracker
  • Viewpoint KPI
  • Project Planning Practices
  • Transportation
  • Paving Crew Schedule
  • Foreman Development.
  • Maintain overall inventory control of all materials and equipment.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Prepare all reporting as per current procedures.
  • Hire competent, skilled trades people as per current procedures.
  • Provide training and development activities to subordinates to meet the requirements of the company.
  • Delegate but still maintain overall responsibilities and accountability of the role.
  • Lead team to promote positive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred with a minimum of 10 years of experience within the Municipal Civil Market.
  • 5 years of experience as a leader who can successfully manage Civil projects and various levels of skilled workers all the while adhering to policies and guidelines.
  • Strong Leadership skills effectively managing and motivating teams.
  • Experience working on multi-size projects.
  • Experience working with key vendors.
  • Ability to build relationships, guide collaboration, and provide exceptional training through the support of Superintendents & Foreman.
  • Excellent organizational, planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Customer focused & adaptable, with superb communication skills.
  • Excellent Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
