To learn more about CMH, please visit our website at .Job Description:Salary:$45.51 – $54.18Position Summary:The Speech Language Pathologist will provide assessment, consultation, and treatment of a variety of swallowing and communication disorders to inpatient adults in our medicine and surgical programs as well as Rehabilitation, ICU and Emergency departments. Opportunity to work with and provide supervision to a Communicative Disorders Assistant as part of a multidisciplinary team. The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This casual position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.Posted hours do not constitute a guarantee that shifts will not be subject to change.Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved program in speech-language pathology required
  • Registered with the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario required
  • Recent clinical experience in the areas of adult and geriatric swallowing and communication disorders, including conducting and interpreting Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies.
  • Completion of a Dysphagia continuing education course will be required for new graduates
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team
  • Possess comprehensive assessment, treatment, and documentation skills
  • Keyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and Cerner/Oracle systems a definite asset
  • Regular attendance is required
