Sr. Accountant

Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Hartford, Connecticut. This role is where the individual will be tasked with key duties like conducting financial analysis, maintaining and reconciling accounts, and facilitating the month-end closing process.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed financial analysis to provide insights and recommendations

• Maintain and reconcile various accounts such as balance sheets and bank reconciliations

• Create and post journal entries to the general ledger

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and financial reporting

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

• Use financial systems like NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting functions

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

• Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information

• Work on special projects and provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed

• Stay updated with industry trends and current financial laws and regulations.

Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger operations and Journal Entries

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with complex formulas and pivot tables

• Experience with Month End Close processes

• Prior use of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• Proven track record of maintaining accurate financial records and preparing clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use

• Ability to work independently, with little supervision

• Demonstrable ethical behavior, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
