Your efforts will ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and efficient commercial solutions.Your leadership will guide a team of QA engineers in integrating advanced testing practices across the development lifecycle, leveraging automated and manual testing strategies to achieve the highest standards of product quality and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and Manage QA Team: Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to develop a high-performing QA team consisting of manual testing and automation engineers.
  • QA Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with the roadmap, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders within the R&D group and beyond to identify quality metrics and priorities, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Policy and Standard Setting: Define and establish QA policies and standards that guide testing practices and procedures, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach across all projects.
  • Defining Goals and Objectives: Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives for the QA team that align with organisational targets, promoting accountability and excellence in performance.
  • Accelerating Speed to Deployment: Prioritise initiatives and strategies that enhance the speed to deployment without compromising on quality, ensuring that QA processes facilitate rapid and efficient product releases.

Testing Frameworks & Processes

  • Design and Implementation: Design, develop, and oversee the implementation of effective testing frameworks, tools, and processes across the software development lifecycle.
  • Automated and Manual Testing: Drive the development of automated test suites, performance testing tools and other automation solutions to drive efficiencies and increased velocities.
  • Integration and Standards: Work closely with software development teams to integrate quality assurance processes and establish standards for test scripts to ensure consistency, maintainability and reusability.
  • CI/CD: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to embed automation seamlessly throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and adherence to industry best practices for optimised efficiency and reliability.
  • Leading QA Community of Practice: Foster and lead a community of practice for QA professionals within the organisation, promoting knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the advancement of QA methodologies.

Quality Improvement & Team Development

  • Metrics Analysis and Optimization: Analyse quality metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance testing efficiency and product quality.
  • Cultural Cultivation: Cultivate an inclusive culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the QA team, encouraging knowledge sharing and alignment with the company’s core values.
  • Competency Framework and Career Paths: Guide career development and progression within the team, offering visibility into growth opportunities and requirements for advancement, thereby fostering an inclusive, motivated and career-oriented culture.
  • Thought Leadership: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in QA technologies and practices, advocating for their adoption to enhance QA processes.

Key Qualifications:

  • QA Leadership Experience: 6+ years of experience in a QA leadership role within an R&D or product development setting.
  • QA Process Mastery: Strong background in QA methodologies. Deep knowledge in developing and managing QA processes, including both automated and manual testing strategies.
  • Technical and Tools: Prior technical experience in QA testing or technical role (software development or related) with an understanding of QA tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
  • Team Leadership: Excellent communication skills. Proven ability to lead and mentor diverse teams, with a focus on performance enhancement and career development.
  • Agile and DevOps Acumen: Solid experience in Agile and DevOps environments, integrating QA seamlessly into development cycles.
  • Project Management Excellence: A track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and with a high standard of quality.
  • Innovation and Adaptability: A forward-thinking approach, passionate about adopting new technologies to advance QA practices and maintain industry leadership.
