Description
Robert Half has a client in the Distribution industry seeking a Network Engineer II. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience in small to medium environments and over at least 5 years of hands-on experience. This will be a direct hire opportunity that will onboard with a hybrid work model.

Manager layer 2/3 devices on the OSI Support and troubleshoot Fortigate Firewalls utilizing the FortiManager suite. Liaise with vendor support to manage maintenance planning and implementation (reactive and proactive) to minimize service disruption for Network Services

Deliver Network infrastructure development / build activities (managed by Project Managers), including release and deployment management for new services

Create and maintain operational and procedural documentation and escalation processes to ensure adherence to Network SLAs
Requirements
-
Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP utilizing FortiManager and Fortigate firewalls.

Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and outages, adjusting and upgrading systems as required.

Deploy, configure, and maintain FortiManager and Fortigate firewalls, and ensure privacy and protection from intruders.

Prepare accurate network diagrams and documentations for design and planning network communication systems.

Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current network environment.

Ensuring effective cyber security measures are properly installed.
Qualifications:
-
A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing FortiManager and Fortigate Firewalls required.

Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols and VLAN setup and configuration. CCNA, CCNP, or relevant Fortinet certifications preferred.
