Staff Accountant | Direct Hire |

A leading vessel operations company is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant for a permanent direct hire position.  

If you have at least two years of accounting experience in the Fishing, Timber, Agriculture, or Construction industries, this role could be a perfect fit for you.

In this role, you will handle payroll calculations, including fishermen’s compensation based on catch rates and gear deductions, and manage any unexpected situations that may arise on the boats.

The office environment is relaxed, and after the training period, you will have the option to work remotely 2 days per week.

Staff Accountant Job Responsibilities:

• Processes weekly payroll to fishing crew and ensures distribution of payroll checks and supporting calculations.
• Prepares cost accounting analysis of vessel improvements and shipyard projects
• Prepares or reviews crew share calculations including estimates paid after each fishing trip and final settlements
• Prepares cost accounting journal entries for payroll expenses and taxes
• Provides support to headquarters employees as requested.

Pay: $70,000 per year

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Desired Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of previous experience in an Accounting position
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business related field preferred
• Preferred experience in fishing, timber, agriculture or construction industries
• Able to train in person for 1 month and then work 3 days per week in office in Seattle
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency, bonus points for knowledge of Sage and Paylocity
• Possess strong understanding of cost accounting, Payroll, Journal entries.
