  • This Stop Smoking Practitioner role are hybrid working, with contractual work bases at County Hall Taunton and Brympton Way Yeovil
  • We have 1 x full time equivalent post available and welcome job share and part – time applications
  • This role will work within our Smokefree Somerset service and will target groups with a high smoking prevalence e.g. social housing, substance misuse and long term health conditions
  • This post is a 3 years fixed term appointment

We’re working to improve the lives of people here in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that joining a dynamic public health team, which has an excellent reputation. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Providing specialist support and advice to smokers within specific target groups with a high smoking prevalence
  • Deliver group, 1-1 in clients homes and telephone support sessions
  • Work as part of a multi-Disciplinary team to ensure that every Somerset family has the opportunity to be smokefree

We offer ongoing support, training, and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Can communicate with a wide range of people both in group and 1:1 settings and build relationships with individuals and families across a range of backgrounds.
  • Have experience of managing a caseload and maintaining concise records.
  • Have access to/use of a vehicle is an essential requirement for this post.
  • Have a motivational interviewing qualification and / or experience.
