On-going training and development allows them to operate very efficiently in an industry made interestingly complex and demanding by legislation.Right now we are hiring for a Stores Person reporting directly to the Sales Director, this position will have responsibility for receiving/checking inbound goods from other sites & suppliers, order picking & packing ready for dispatch which will involve some manual handlingSo Whats the role?

• Picking and delivering goods by using a forklift
• Receiving all deliveries and checking the goods received
• Making up of all orders and packing to a high standard for ready for dispatch by the Driver.
• Stock management, the rotation of stock, relocation and stock checks when needed. Keeping detailed records of shortages and spares of items
• Checking of loaded vehicles to ensure goods match the loading note tickets
• Unloading and sorting of returned empty wooden pallets
• Day to day general house keeping of the stores area
• This position may involve interacting with some of our valued customers so requires a polite, pleasant & helpful manner; be enthusiastic and be able to work on their own as well as part of the team, be willing to do overtime when needed to ensure operational demands are achieved and to cover for holidays.
• Work closely with Contracts Managers and Bishopbriggs Office staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
• Engage with Site Managers and Suppliers to build strong, productive partnerships that drive success and efficiency.
• To undertake training as required and to carry out other tasks as deemed necessary, that are within the job holder’s capability
• Ensuring all Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times.

Whats skills are required?

• FLT experience (active licence highly desirable)
• Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment, preferably within manufacturing.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with different departments and suppliers.
• Can demonstrate awareness and knowledge with up to date Health & Safety procedures
• You will be diligent, self-motivated, organised, enthusiastic and personable with good people skills, and with a commitment to the Health and safety
