Rock Power Connections offers all of its customers a full project management and delivery service from initial design to the final switch-on.About the roleThe role of Streetworks Coordinator is to support the Streetworks Manager to ensure all requirements of their roles are completed in an efficient and timely manner.The Streetworks Manager is responsible for ensuring that all offsite excavation works within the public highway are undertaken with all necessary permits in place and that the support provided by third party partners such as traffic management suppliers or civils contractors is undertaken as per the requirements of the permit.The role requires a high level of organisation skills, attention to detail, and accurate record keeping. The role will also involve liaising with clients, external stakeholders, and suppliers as required.Responsibilities can vary depending upon the current priorities of the business.Key responsibilitiesTraining and Development

  • Working with and the Streetworks Manager to become fully conversant with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Personal development commitment to fully understand the streetworks permitting process.
  • Personal development commitment to be able to review and understand Traffic Management Plans and breakdown the required phasing.
  • Personal development commitment to become competent in understanding cable route drawings including placement within the highway.

Streetworks and PermittingWorking alongside the Streetworks Manager to support (and lead as appropriate) on;

  • Engaging with relevant Local Authorities (or their agents) to identify and understand the permitting application process relevant to the region of planned activity.
  • Arranging and coordinating on site meetings with Local Authorities, Traffic Management companies, Civils Contractors and RPC Project Managers as required to agree works coordination.
  • Respond to streetworks enquiries from members of the public/local businesses.
  • Work with Traffic Management partners and RPC Project Managers to secure applicable TM plans that meet the works requirements
  • Apply for Statutory Undertaker Utility Plans to support permit applications, and ensure these remain in date for the works to progress
  • Ensure civils contractors are aware of any permit constraints/conditions and that permit numbers are issued to them in advance of works commencing.
  • Ensure all sites are fully cleared (including the off hire of Traffic Management) prior to notices ending.
  • Work with RPC Project Managers to ensure applications are submitted in a timely manner and meet Local Authority requirements.
  • Undertake and coordinate any other permitting requirements specific to the works – TTRO’s, Parking Bay suspensions, Bus Stop Suspensions, Permanent light switch outs etc.
  • Ensure conditions of permits are planned for and met – Advanced Warning Signs (AWS), letter drops, working hours, manned TM etc.
  • To ensure the appropriate traffic management provisions are authorised for all relevant works taking place.
  • Ensure notifications for permits submitted on time on the days of works commencing and ending.
  • Secure reinstatement details from civils partners for submission in accordance with Local Authority time requirements.
  • Monitoring and reporting on reinstatement defects and interim reinstatements and coordinate timely remedial works.

  • General administrative and operational support to the wider office team as and when required
