We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.Job SummaryEquinix is hiring a Sustainabiltiy Manager in the Sustainability Program Office to support Equinix’s xScale business supporting hyperscale partners and customers with a focus on aligning their sustainability strategy with our global Sustainability program. This individual will report to the VP of Sustainability Technology and will partner with internal teams in support of driving a global sustainability program. Candidates will be familiar with the data center industry, sustainability & regulatory reporting frameworks such CDP, CSRD, GRI, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and Science-based Targets initiative) and are comfortable working cross-functionally to drive results. Ideally the candidate is familiar with strategies related the use of renewable energy and associated instruments (Energy Attribute Certificates) to reduce the impacts of data ceneter energy consumption.ResponsibilitiesPartner with internal stakeholders to develop & document the sustainability strategy across each of the xScale Joint VenturesCross-functionally support the execution of the sustainability strategy within the xScale business, including customer engagement strategies and the execution of environmental stewardship effortsSupport and facilitate data collection and data management of xScale-related sustainability data for inclusion in voluntary and mandatory reportingOversee sustainability requirements and contract language for xScale customersExpectation to grow into an expert on data center, real estate and technology-related sustainability topics including deep expertise in technical sustainability conceptsGrow into a subject-matter expert on key sustainability issues including incoming global ESG regulation, reporting frameworks, and climate initiativesQualifications5-7 years of experience in corporate sustainabilityB.S. degree in relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience (Masters degree preferred)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to translate complex sustainability topics and datasets into concise and actionable insight across a broad range of audiencesWorking knowledge of sustainability programs specific to energy, environment and emissions (e.g. CDP, CSRD, GRI, The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science-based Targets Initiative, etc.)Aptitude and excitement to lead various cross-functional workstreams while engaging a variety of teams at different levelsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams with competing and sometimes urgent deadlines and experience influencing upwards to keep programs and projects movingAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
