We have an exciting opportunity for a Driver to join our Vehicle Fleet Management Team on a temporary basis for 12 months. As a Driver you will provide a service to South Yorkshire Police delivering, collecting and moving vehicles, mail, property, exhibits, furniture and personnel around the force and at times outside of force area.The successful candidates will work a two-week shift pattern:Week 1: Monday to Wednesday 07.00 hrs to 15.00 hrsWeek 2: Thursday 07.00hrs to 15.00 hrs & Friday 07.00 hrs to14.30 hrsKey responsibilities:

  • Vehicle checks, ensuring your vehicle is road worthy.
  • Collect & deliver vehicles to and from Districts/Departments to the garage for service & repairs.
  • Transport drugs along with police officers to the incinerator in Leeds.
  • Collection & delivery of unform around the force.
  • Collection and delivery of equipment/furniture/mail/laptops/airwaves/property around the force.

Skills and experience:

  • Must hold a current full clean driving licence to include cars and light vans up to 7.500kg.
  • Computer Literate

Eligibility:Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.
