We have an exciting opportunity available for a Prevention Co-ordinator – Drugs & Alcohol Related Deaths to join the team based at Maltby. This is a temporary role until 30th September 2025.Key responsibilities:

  • Research police information systems, liaise with investigating and HM Coroners Officers.
  • Collate and analyse data e.g., information from Gen18s, update systems, including the DARD Systems.
  • Provide regular reports for key partner organisations on Drug and Alcohol Deaths.
  • Where necessary, make contact with members of the public and bereaved families to ascertain further information and provide pathways to support.
  • Participate/attend regular meetings, such as drug related death review panels/mortality reviews and early warning meetings.
  • Contribute in decision-making and utilise learning from drug related death review panels/mortality reviews.
  • Liaise with the Force Drugs Lead to implement any lessons learned from drug related death reviews.
  • Collate and disseminate National, Regional and Local updates from Force Lead to and between partners.
  • Provide partners with information as required in line with the ISA.
  • Maintain awareness of organisational priorities around drugs death prevention, as well as local and national perspective

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with sensitive information and dealing with and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Previous work experience in information collection, analysis, research and action.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other packages, which enable data manipulation, formulae, charts and functions.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral with a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to manage workload and work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment, responding quickly to dynamic priorities and requests from multiple partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyse multiple sources of information in order to draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Experience of community engagement and problem-solving including working with partners/stakeholders external to your organisation to reduce harms associated with substance misuse.
