The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.Purpose of the Role
- Apply the EMC, E&B and corrossion relevant standards in AC railways
- Define a compliant EMC activity and E&B activity for Project phase
- Support designers in implementing EMC and E&B rules and principles.
- Support the Technical Project Manager with the EMC, E&B and corrosion expertise.
- Identify technical/Project risks in EMC and E&B field and assess associated financial provisions and/or propose design mitigations
- Define & conduct on-site testing by coordinating with T&C and operation management teams
- Support Quality team in verifying the proper implementation of EMC and E&B rules and principles.
- Support Design Leaders in specifying to Suppliers the type testing requirements, and in checking FAT conformity
Educational Requirements
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario (P.Eng) or in the process
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions related to EMC and Earthing & Bonding
- Experienced in AC railway systems (3/5 years)
- Knowledge and several years of experience in EMC, E&B, electrical distribution (HV, LV and Traction), Stray Current (including cathodic protection), lightning, Specification and Testing
- Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment and systems
- Knowledge of Signalling, Telecommunication, Power Supply and Overhead Catenary Systems preferred
- Knowledge of the rail environment and engineering practices
- Knowledge of International Standards
- Fluent in English
- Good coordination and Communication
