Company DescriptionCompany Description:The UK Government has established UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd., a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), to lead the charge in delivering fusion energy through design and delivery of the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) protype fusion plant. UKIFS is establishing itself, setting up the company, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning and constructing of the STEP prototype.Fusion energy, crucial for combating climate change and ensuring energy independence, is expected to be commercially viable by mid-century. The UK, led by UKIFS, aims for a prototype fusion plant, targeting first operations around 2040. UK Industrial Fusion Solutions Ltd. will lead delivery, collaborating with industrial partners and building a fusion supply chain with an estimated global sector value of £7tn per year. As part of this bold and ambitious mission, we are building an extraordinary team to help shape the future of sustainable energy.Your key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with stakeholders: Collaborate closely with hiring managers and business leaders to ensure recruitment aligns with our strategic objectives, shaping roles that fit UKIFS’ long-term needs.
- Enhancing candidate and employee experience: Design and implement best-in-class recruitment, onboarding, and retention processes to ensure seamless integration for new hires and foster ongoing engagement.
- Job design & workforce planning: Play a crucial role in job evaluation, ensuring roles are clearly defined and fairly structured, while also planning for future workforce needs.
- Innovative recruitment: Develop creative, data-driven recruitment strategies to source hard-to-fill roles, bringing in top talent to meet the challenges of a growing, world-changing organisation.
- Onboarding excellence: Lead efforts to build an efficient onboarding process that reflects our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and creates a positive experience for every new joiner.
QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, especially in hard-to-fill and specialist roles
- Strong expertise in recruitment processes, onboarding, job evaluation, and workforce planning
- Ability to collaborate effectively, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive positive outcomes
