Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Tax Specialist to join our team in United Kingdom.About the RoleAre you ready to take your career to the next level with a dynamic and expanding Tax team? Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, a pure-play Hotel Company, is seeking a dedicated Tax Specialist to oversee and manage our tax affairs. Since 2018, our Tax Operations have grown significantly, and we now require a skilled professional to support our International Tax function across Europe, Canada, and the Asia-Pacific region.This role will enhance our International Tax function’s capacity, allowing for timely execution of tasks and exploration of new opportunities. You will collaborate closely with our UK-based Director of Global Tax EMEA on certain projects while working independently on others.Successful candidates will be required to provide evidence of their ability to work legally in the United Kingdom.Responsibilities

  • Manage a comprehensive range of tax responsibilities, balancing both routine and new challenges.
  • Develop and review UK corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and employment tax returns (non-payroll).
  • Coordinate with advisers in Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and other countries to ensure compliance with local corporate income tax returns.
  • Address UK tax inquiries and collaborate with advisers for non-UK inquiries.
  • Assist in meeting transfer pricing obligations and work alongside the US Tax Team for group compliance and financial reporting.
  • Provide expert advice to the business on various tax aspects as required.
  • Collaborate on regional projects with the Global Head of Tax and monitor changes in tax legislation to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
  • Identify and implement improvements in the group’s tax position while acting as a second pair of eyes by reviewing work prepared by the Director of Global Tax EMEA.

Key Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of UK corporation tax, with a working knowledge of other UK taxes.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail to identify risks and manage compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to interpret and analyse financial data.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and manage challenging situations diplomatically.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience in UK corporation tax software.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • A minimum of AAT/ ATT certification; ACA and/ or CTA preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of taxation experience in either industry or practice.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially for analytical tasks.
