Role: Teaching AssistantLocation: Kingsway Campus, DunstableSalary/Benefits: Salary from £22,072 (Pro Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 27 days of annual leave (Pro Rata) plus bank holidays, Peoples pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.Working Pattern: 37hrs per week (1.0 FTE) over 37 weeks.Contract Type: Permanent – Term TimeAbout the role:We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join The Bedford College Group at our Kingsway Campus in Dunstable, as well as off site visits.As a Teaching Assistant, you play an important role in the success of our students through:Providing support to students with the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) accessing vocational and academic courses across the college from level one to level three.Working under the direction of the Additional Learning Support Team Leader and class teacher to implement strategies in line with students’ individual support plan.Being an active member of the Additional Learning Support Team and supporting the success of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.About you:Ideal candidates will have:
- Educated to Level 2 in Maths and English
- Relevant L3 qualification or willingness to work towards
- Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in writing and on the telephone
- Working knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- Experience of providing support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in an educational or care setting
- Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in writing and on the telephone
- Working knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA)
- A willingness to work on all sites, with access to your own transport
