This role supports the integration of sale strategies and ensures long term growth and sustainability of the Individual Products. This position works closely with the Manager, Individual Sales, to focus on sales strategies, supporting client relations, sales quality and training, and managing key initiatives in the area that are focused on the growth and development of the Individual line of products. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement, measure, and monitor sales strategies for Health and Travel plans
- Work closely with the Individual Sales team to monitor progress with set targets to maximize opportunities through reporting, coaching, and quality review
- Coach and develop the team to achieve quality performance, setting priorities and attaining career development goals
- Work closely with the Manager, Individual Sales, to accurately forecast sales performance progress against sales plans and objectives
- Successfully hire, train, manage, and develop employees to ensure business needs are met and superior member experience is achieved
- Ensure the effectiveness of Individual Sales for the area through training, process development, and handling of escalated issues for all product lines while handling varied, fast-paced duties, subject to shifting priorities in a deadline driven environment
- Conduct quality assurance monitoring of sales members by listening, scoring individual calls, and providing feedback to the Manager on a weekly basis
- Complete regulatory requirements on behalf of the Individual Sales Department and collaborate with other departments to support changes as required
- Act as a change leader within the organization by identifying opportunities to optimize efficiency internally within the Individual Sales Department and within Saskatchewan Blue Cross as a whole
- Coordinate internal discussions to ensure cross-collaboration between the Individual Sales team and other departments to ensure initiatives and key decisions are aligned with the organization
- Build and maintain a high level of educational credibility by keeping up to date with the latest developments in insurance policy and market influences
- Identify opportunities to cross sell and upsell while implementing and developing programs to increase sales opportunities and retention of members/external partners who aid in sales of Saskatchewan Blue Cross products
- Work with the Manager to ensure sales reports are accurately produced for quarterly bonus results to attain sales performance
- Be an advocate to the team in putting the interest of our clients and members (internal and external) first, by actively living our Member-First Principles
- Monitor Licensing of employees and advisors by verifying valid licensing requirements
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required
- 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible sales supervision and oversight, with 2 to 3 years of leadership experience
- LLQP (Life and Accident & Sickness license) in Saskatchewan is required, the successful candidate must be committed to continuous learning and to maintaining the educational requirements of the Life License. New licensees must be willing to enroll and successfully complete life licensing requirements and related industry training within first 6 months of hire, and will be subject to supervision requirements, as outlined by the Insurance Council of Saskatchewan
- Previous experience within the insurance or health care industry would be considered an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including thorough knowledge of business, proficiency with the English language, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and arithmetic
- Excellent organizational, research, and analytical skills with the ability to summarize information into reports and other documents
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 with the ability to understand and learn new systems
- Ability to provide team members with guidance and constructive feedback to work-related questions and performance
- Ability to coordinate, assign, and review workloads of self and others
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to determine root causes and provide recommendations to management, staff and stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate across the organization, seeking to understand the interests of others, and support the collective mandate of Saskatchewan Blue Cross
- Ability to build and foster mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical terms and present information to non-expert audiences
- A focus on providing exceptional client-service to all Saskatchewan Blue Cross staff and external stakeholders
- Ability to translate technical analysis of information and concepts into workable solutions
- Must be willing to travel, work flexible hours, and possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check. Security clearance will be required to complete licensing requirements
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
