Job Description:The Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation for our products, services, and internal processes. This role requires collaborating with various teams to gather information, understand complex technical concepts, and translate them into easily digestible content for diverse audiences. The Technical Writer plays a crucial role in maintaining Redpath’s documentation standards and ensuring all technical materials adhere to our branding guidelines.Responsibilities: Documentation Creation and Maintenance

• Develop and maintain documentation such as user manuals, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Content Development and Management

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and understand technical information.
• Transform complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
• Implement and maintain a documentation version control system.

Technical Skills and Knowledge Application

• Apply general understanding of technical language and concepts (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical) to accurately convey information.
• Create and maintain templates for various document types.
• Develop and program basic forms using appropriate software tools.
• Ensure visual appeal and readability of all technical documents.

Quality Assurance

• Proofread and edit documents for grammar, style, and technical accuracy.
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing documentation.

Tools and Technology

• Utilize advanced features of MS Office Suite for document creation and management.
• Use Adobe Creative Suite for design and layout of technical documents.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and documentation.
• Propose and implement improvements to documentation processes and standards.

Qualifications: Education

• Required: Secondary education.
• Preferred: Post-secondary education in Technical Writing, mining, or similar field.

Work Experience

• Required: 3 years in Technical Writing or similar field.
• Preferred: 5-10 years in Technical Writing or similar field, with experience in mining or construction.

Computer Skills

• MS Office Suite.
• Adobe Creative Suite.
• Use of AI tools considered an asset.

Knowledge Required

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and documentation tools.
