Also possess a knowledge of other technical disciplines and a strong general understanding of the insurance industry and is able to solve complex problems while taking a new perspective on providing solutions. They use their technical knowledge, taking a holistic view when proposing solutions. Works independently; receiving minimal guidance. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience. There is an acknowledgement that career progression may stabilise at this level.ResponsibilitiesTechnical

  • Has own technical case load.
  • Works independently to handle all aspects of proportional accounting, including create, calculate and process portfolio and profit commissions on behalf of client when required
  • Works with team to manage wider team case load as required, especially during busy periods
  • Takes lead for their own accounts, responding to queries and liaising across business departments to actively resolve accounts in a timely manner.

Projects & Change Management

  • Contributes as a source of strong technical knowledge on ad hoc and continuous improvement projects
  • Assists with IT platform upgrade activities on behalf of Operations team as required
  • Assists and informs implementation work on process improvement initiatives

Managing Information

  • Act as influencer to Cheltenham Operations and wider Amwins Global Risks Group
  • Coach and develop the technical skills of team members
  • Deliver learning events as and when required on area of specialist knowledge

Quality Assurance

  • Undertake quality assurance checks, remedying any mistakes and errors before submission.
  • Work with the wider Cheltenham senior team and London Divisions to identify and put in place any necessary technical training to deal with any service quality issues.

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications

  • Understanding of the principles of insurance
  • Strong understanding of Proportional Treaty insurance and methods of accounting used in this area
  • Ability to identify, analyse and act upon key information
  • Expert knowledge of relevant Computer systems
  • Deep understanding of the link between own role and IBA
  • In-depth knowledge of internal policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of IBA Client, Underwriter and Bureau functions and processes
