The post holder will work on one or more projects, reporting to a senior delivery manager, and will be responsible for the co-ordination and execution of the required testing to ensure the systems Ofsted develops meet the agreed quality standards. The test lead will champion quality standards within Ofsted.The post holder will work on Ofsted’s more complex digital products and may manage one or more test analysts. You will be responsible for determining test cases and planning and execution of tests across one or more projects. On complex digital products you will work closely with the product owner, developer(s) and test analysts to determine the scope of what is to be tested. You will also be responsible for identifying and document test scenarios and the relevant test data, have responsibility for managing test resource, ensuring quality standards are maintained and testing is performed in a consistent and transparent manner across projects.This is a fantastic opportunity to further your experience in Ofsted’s well-established team. Technical skillsWe’ll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • Knowledge of testing tools, techniques and best practice, particularly those applicable to software development.
  • Experience planning, executing and reporting on complex tests, in a digital environment, including managing test data.
  • Experience of working on a fast-paced digital project, collaborating with a range of stakeholders with other specialist skills to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Experience working as a test professional in an agile delivery team.
  • The ability to work independently or leading a small team to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to simplify and explain complex messages to a range of stakeholders including senior management and suppliers.
