Summary of position:Operates a lathe (different types) to usually manufacture, repair or modify high-precision parts and operates a honing machine to usually finish parts to requested dimensions and finishes.Main responsibilities:

  • Adjusts his machine, carries out complex set-ups, chooses tools, cutting speed and machine and resolves problems inherent to his work, usually without technical assistance.
  • Performs moderately to very complicated operations on parts with very precise tolerances involving great responsibility, such as aircraft structural parts or others.
  • Assembles and adjusts its measuring instruments;
  • Detects and corrects apparent defects such as scratches, chipping, corrosion, sharp edges, etc., through simple deburring and cosmetic polishing operations. In the event that the part is damaged as a result of its operations or handling, it carries out chromating operations.
  • Occasionally trains and/or guides other employees in carrying out their tasks.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and instructions.
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of his work, completes the information and/or documents necessary for his operation.
  • Reports to his superior any anomaly concerning his work or safety.
  • Keeps his workstation clean and in good order.
  • Has the personal tools necessary to accomplish his work (complete safe).
  • Performs any other similar task entrusted by his immediate superior.

Qualifications:

  • DEP machining technique
  • Significant effort of analysis and judgment required
  • Five (5) years of experience
  • Complete directory of tools required in this sector of work
