Its work programme includes the regular monitoring of international trade and quantifying and analysing supply chain interdependencies. The division maintains and undertakes analysis of the data collected in OECD Inventory on Export Restrictions on Industrial Raw Materials and the OECD Inventory of Fossil Fuel Support. It develops and maintains the data and modelling infrastructure to support development and use of OECD’s global trade computable general equilibrium model METRO and timely and granular trade analysis. The division also provides support to all other divisions across the Trade and Agriculture Directorate on corporate data engineering and data science aspects.The Analysis, Data and Modelling division (ADM) is recruiting a Trade Policy Analyst to undertake and contribute to research and analysis, pursuant to the Work and Budget of the OECD Trade Committee. The successful candidate will be expected to make strong analytical contributions to the above outlined areas of work and to contribute to the communication of outputs for usage, awareness, and effect. She/He will work under the supervision of the Head of Analysis, Data and Modelling Division in the Trade and Agriculture Directorate.Main ResponsibilitiesResearch, analysis and drafting

• Contribute to the planning, research and drafting of analytical and conceptual reports to provide economic and policy analysis of trade policy issues of relevance to the OECD Trade Committee.
• Provide policy guidance as it relates to trade policy issues under assigned area of responsibility.
• Provide impact analysis of relevant international trade policy initiatives.
• Draft papers, maintain databases and respond to technical requests in areas of expertise.

Representation and liaison

• Participate in and provide support to the OECD Trade Committee, its subsidiary bodies, expert meetings, conferences and workshops.
• Establish and maintain excellent working relations at operational level with OECD delegations, national authorities and experts, other OECD Directorates, and international agencies.
• Contribute to the organization of workshop, conferences, forums and other relevant events and meetings.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsIdeal Candidate ProfileAcademic Background

• An advanced university degree in economics or a related subject with links to the field of international trade or international macroeconomics.

Professional Background

• At least five years’ experience in research and policy analysis related to international trade and international macroeconomics with a strong quantitative content.
• Proven capacity for sound analytical and policy-orientated work; ability to execute effectively research or project assignments; proven ability to synthesise technical and policy-orientated issues for a policy-minded audience at governmental or intergovernmental level.
• Demonstrated expertise in the areas of (i) supply chain analysis, (ii) trade monitoring, (iii) the development of quantitative indices based on qualitative information, (iv) computable general equilibrium and / or econometric modelling of trade and trade policies, would be an advantage.

Contract Duration

• Two-year fixed term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.

• Depending on level of experience, monthly salary starts at 7 738 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.
