This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Delivery Consultant will be able to work independently or with the Program Managers through the project initiation process, help to oversee quality control throughout the project’s life cycle and formal closure and review for each project.Key responsibilities include:

  • Engage with stakeholders companywide to understand and advise on their objectives and problems.
  • Support the delivery of benefits from transformational programs or projects, taking ownership from start to finish.
  • Build and maintain effective communications with key stakeholders, cross functional leaders and project team members.
  • Lead or support project activities, plans, and schedules associated with deliverables and milestones.
  • Manage the project execution to deliver tangible deliverables within businesses and support functions.
  • Support knowledge management efforts with clients and within the team.
  • Work with the relevant business area in helping to identify other areas of transformation opportunity within the same project or business area.
  • Utilize project management disciplines and where necessary provide input to improve the processes and documents within project management systems.
  • Preferably have previous experience in one or more relevant areas [e.g., Operating Model Design, Process Design & Optimization, Change Management & Communications].
  • Lead, Develop and Define project scope, goals and deliverables with the Project Sponsor as part of the project initiation process for Large/complex projects/programmes with budgetary information and resourcing needs. Working with core client groups as required.
  • Lead, Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track and report on progress against plan of complex projects, managing and escalating risks and issues through to resolution.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path, consider programme and wider impacts.
  • Ensure strong linkages with the wider MS Transformation Programme supporting the delivery of the MS strategy.
  • Champion Project management and increase project management capability across Managed Services.
  • Required to work across the business and where appropriate 3rd parties (clients, Suppliers and Tenants) for variety of large and complex projects/programmes.
  • Perform stakeholder analysis and create a stakeholder engagement plan. Manage project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with the Project Sponsor and Steering Group to address the impact of any change to teams within the organisation.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Communicate Project Management methodologies and ideas to all (often including senior leaders), anticipating potential objections and persuading others to adopt a different point of view.
  • Support the Transformation Team in any wider governance reporting as required by the PMO.
  • Lead assigned projects to completion
  • Provide project managers and team members with feedback, encouragement and advice.
  • Conduct project post implementation reviews of projects and document lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects.
  • Identification of potential risks for resistance and benefit realisation, evaluation and ensuring readiness for change as well as development of plans to address.

A logical, structured approach to problem solving and common sense are key.Experience

  • Professional experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm and/or with a firm with a well-established transformation agenda.
  • Direct experience of major international business transformation projects.
  • Excellent analytical and program management skills are essential.
  • Commercially and financially astute, comfortable with company P&L and, ideally, also balance sheet.
  • Diverse industry and functional backgrounds gained through consulting or elsewhere.
  • Understanding of or exposure to global real estate markets preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to effectively design, gain alignment and successfully execute significant transformation change initiatives from project start to finish.
  • Project management skills including planning, risk management and benefits tracking
  • Experience in using project and programme management tools and techniques.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Commercially and financially astute, comfortable with company P&L and, ideally, also balance sheet.
  • Proven track record with delivering complex and large-scale projects
