There’s a seat at our table for you…Position: Transit DriverSchedule: 5 x 8 | Sunday to Thursday | Night Shifts | 5:00PM startsPosition Summary:The Class 1 Transit Driver is responsible for hauling trailers to and from Lethbridge 5 nights a week. Shifts will vary depending on business needs and may include weekends.What We Offer:Hourly rate starts at $29.00 with potential increase to $36.30 after 12 months of serviceMedical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and EAP Benefits after 30 days of employmentFULL flex benefits programCompany matching RRSPProfit Sharing125-year, family-owned and operated company historyFamily culture and advancement opportunitiesEssential Functions:Operate and drive tractor trailers to transport goods and materials over and rural routesConduct routine truck inspections to ensure safety requirements are met by performing pre/post trip inspectionsEnsure loaded trailer is delivered on time from the Warehouse to LethbridgeMaintain records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets, truck information and customer invoicesFollow all GFS Canada policies and procedures including allProvide exceptional service to customers and build/maintain quality customer relationships.Should be self-motivated, punctual, energetic and be able to work with a diverse customer groupAble to maintain composure in high pressure situationsDriving of the Truck/tractor to locations = 80%Physically handling of the product = 10%Customer Service = 5%Administration/paper work = 5%Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Possession of valid Class 1 license is a MUSTA minimum of 1 year of experience driving Long Combination Vehicle (LCV) is a MUSTAble to read, write and communicate in English effectivelyMust be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimum supervision.Excellent focus and attention to detail and have effective problem solving skillsKnowledge in manual transmission is an asset.Experience in driving in winter is an advantage.#GFSCAWe thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
