The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesJob Title: Transport ManagerLocation: Langwathby, Cumbria, UKContract type and shift: Permanent, Monday to Friday – Flexibility is key! Please note that this site runs 24/6.Interviews will take place on Wednesday 23rd October.Join our team and promote growth.Are you an experienced and innovative transport professional with an enthusiasm for ensuring goods are delivered on time and safely? ABN, a large company located in Langwathby, is seeking a Transport manager to take the wheel and steer our transport operations to new heights.This primary role involves managing our goods vehicle operator license, developing a team of drivers, overseeing fleet maintenance, and ensuring on-time delivery of products.If you are a skilled leader with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuous and effective management of the goods vehicle operator license undertakings.
  • Ensure compliance with all legalities with the operation of vehicles.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance activities to keep our vehicles in top-notch condition.
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of the manufacturing function, including production & engineering.
  • Take a collaborative approach to the site supply chain to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of feed products to meet customer expectations.
  • Manage and adhere to budgets related to transport operations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety and quality.

About you:

  • CPC National Road Haulage
  • Previous experience as a manager with a proven history, named on an O Licence with good repute.
  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to the team, creating a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Continue to make things better by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing positive change.
  • Possess a keen eye for safety, prioritising the well-being of the team and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and an initiative-taking approach to problem- solving.
