IDS is the £10b holding company of Royal Mail in the UK & GLS in Europe & North America. This is a rare chance to sit right at the heart beat of the business influencing and working closely with the leadership team.The role could act as a springboard to a range of other roles within RM & GLS depending on your individual circumstances and development goals.Your work would focus on supporting the IDS leadership (& senior management teams within GLS & RM) across the full spectrum of strategic topics: which includes supporting efforts to define the IDS Strategy; driving analysis around key market/competitor changes; identifying cross-IDS value creation opportunities; or supporting the delivery of a strategically significant RM- or GLS-specific initiatives.
Working alongside the Strategic Projects team to design any priority cross-IDS or RM/GLS Value Creation opportunities & be accountable for supporting Royal Mail & GLS teams in driving that implementation, which includes:

  • Independently scoping the end-deliverables & process touchpoints of a project.
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders cross-functionally across IDS / Royal Mail / GLS levels as needed.
  • Drafting & presenting implementation scoping & interim updates to IDS Leadership team (in PPT or Word) across both process & content.
  • Influencing longer-term implementation within relevant Royal Mail / GLS teams.
  • Leading a small team

Support IDS Leadership team on:

  • Defining, articulating, and refining the IDS Value Creation & Transformation Opportunities (at an IDS level & supporting the translation of this into Royal Mail & GLS Transformation Priorities)

About YouThe ideal candidate would have:

  • A well-rounded consulting toolkit (analytical/conceptual problem-solving; top-down verbal/written communication skills; stakeholder management).
  • A passion for logistics and/or strategy that would be as excited as us about driving growth at one of Europe’s largest logistics companies.
  • Ex or current consultant (strong preference for McKinsey/Bain/BCG) with 7+ years consulting experience.
  • Passion for logistics and/or driving end-to-end delivery.
  • European Logistics experience (within consulting or outside of).
  • M&A/Due Diligence experience (within consulting or outside of).
  • Strategy Setting/Development.
