We are currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Cleaner/Handyperson to work within the Operations Department of the Scottish Ambulance Service at Coatbridge and Law Ambulance Stations. The post holder’s primary function will be to clean Service vehicles.The post holder must have a current driving licence for groups C1 and D1 with no more than 3 penalty points. In addition, they must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in driving these vehicle classes. Candidates will be required to maintain the cleanliness of service vehicles to the standard of Health & Safety Control of Infection Procedures, are responsible for the cleanliness of the garage, wash bay and forecourt areas within the station and should be able to work on their own initiative.The candidate will be working in an ambulance station environment, inside operational ambulances and will be required to work to a very high standard.What you need:

• Driving licence with groups C1 and D1 – no more than 3 penalty points
• Previous experience is not essential although full training will be given.
• A hands-on approach to your work which includes sustaining high standards.
• The ability to carry out your tasks independently.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
