Atrium Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a client for Violence against Women & Girls Advocate (VAWG).
We are looking for someone with comprehensive understanding of the VAWG agenda. They will raise awareness around women’s safety at night, and support night time economy businesses (NTE) and other agencies to provide safe spaces and appropriate support for women and girls experiencing sexual harassment and abuse when out at night in Norwich.The VAWG Advocate will be responsible for developing partnerships with businesses and agencies and delivering training and support to help them tackle issues in relation to the VAWG agenda.
The post holder will work closely with the Licensing Security and Vulnerability Initiative (Licensing SAVI) to develop and embed the delivery of the new safe spaces scheme for women and girls. They will support businesses to gain the higher grading SAVI certificates, having demonstrated that they comply with the standard of best practice within the VAWG framework.Responsibilities:· To develop and deliver an accredited training and assessment framework to support night time economy businesses to cover a range of topics including misogynistic culture and myths, risks to women and girls at night, impact of sexual violence, harassment and abuse, consent and boundaries, bystander responses.
· To work with the Licensing SAVI to develop standards and a framework for the new Women’s Night Safety Charter Badge to demonstrate businesses offering safe spaces and responses to women and girls.
· To identify and work with at least 10 NTE businesses in Norwich to support them with improving their approaches and responses to ensure women and girls safety at night through training and/or the award of the Women’s Night Safety Charter Badge.
· To support other businesses connected to the NTE to promote awareness around women’s safety at night including consent, boundaries, when to intervene, support methods and policies to improve safety.
· To develop working relationships and partnerships with NTE businesses and other agencies working in NTE in central Norwich.Essential:Essential car-user with full clean UK driving license, business insurance and breakdown cover. This post will involve travelling within Norfolk. There may be access to use of the work vehicle.Hours of work:Minimum 30 hours to 37.5 hours. This role will include unsocial working hours across evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the night time economy.Salary:£26,000-£27,500 per annum fte.Benefits include:·Holiday and sick pay entitlement.
