Job Description

Link Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Virtualization Engineer (Senior Level) to join our team in Sierra Vista, Arizona. 

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Secret Clearance is required
  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)
  • Monday- Friday

The Virtualization Engineer will support the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) on Fort Huachuca, AZ. You will provide Army Enterprise virtualization capability to install, configure, and manage a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure. As the Virtualization Engineer, you will help develop plans for configuring, deploying, and administering virtual machines and vApps.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and manage a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure.
  • Provide planning, installing, configuring, and upgrading support for vCenter Server and VMware ESXi cluster using either version 7.x and/or 8.x.
  • Manage and allocate virtual hardware to virtual machines including right-sizing CPU and memory.
  • Develop plans for configuring, deploying, and administering virtual machines and Virtual Applications.
  • Establish and maintain service levels; perform troubleshooting; monitor vSphere implementations and vCenter server alarms.
  • Apply/implement IAVMs, STIGs, bug fixes, security patches/controls, and access controls across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.)
  • Eight (8+) years or more of directly related experience in virtualization systems.
  • Experience providing Tier 1 and 2 support, setting up administrator and service accounts, and ensuring the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Computing environment certification in VMware (VCP-DCV) or Cisco (CCNP-DC) within 60 days of hire.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.
  • IAT Level III Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, etc.).
  • VMware Certified Professional-Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Citrix Certified Associate, Virtualization (CCA-V), or Microsoft Virtualization Certifications
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • Problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Experience providing quality service and support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
