It’s an opportunity to be part of something special.In this new role, the Global Capital, Project Management and Construction Lead will drive the project management, construction management, and construction design expertise for a major global expansion of the Haleon business over the next 5 years.This role ensures capital spend is governed to meet compliance and delivers projects with excellence: design criteria met at the best value and schedule safely. You’ll be an expert in the best-in-class capital management, project management and construction practices, and build the capability of the sites and regions to become experts in capital, project, and construction management. This role is in the field providing direct leadership and coaching of major expansions to ensure design and construction meets the Haleon standards at cost and schedule.This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…Lead the project/construction management and construction design of large programs(
~£100m +) ensuring the global capital management, project management and construction standards are met; preventing financial compliance and safety risks along with meeting the business objective of the programs.Define and integrate in latest best practices/tools and methodology for capital, project and construction management, and overall construction design to meet the expectation of building best in class facilities that meet our cost, cash, sustainability and safety goals.Provide hands on coaching for more complex/medium size global projects around the globe to ensure adherence to the global capital management, project management and construction standards.Lead a team of capital, project, and construction managers to manage the global capital forecast, design facilities and utilities and construct to meet regional and global construction requirements.Develop, train and audit the capital, construction, and project managers around the globe to the new Haleon standards.Communicate to the Haleon Exec Team for large program funding alignment, project updates, risk alignment and risk mitigation strategies.You’ll need to demonstrate the following…This leader needs to be very experienced in project and construction management of multiple large programs in regions across the globe. Experience with leading the construction of global manufacturing plants/sites is required.You’ll have experience in engineering plant construction including the technical aspects of civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural. This includes knowledge of international building codes and standards.You’ll partner effectively with procurement to negotiate pricing and timing for globally sourced materials and equipment. You’ll expertly navigate different regional regulatory environments, cultural difference, and logistical challenges in various countries.The leader is managing the complexity of unknown engineering challenges with the building construction due to weather, staffing, infrastructure gaps within a region, land instability, engineering misses, equipment and material delays, etc. This leader needs to be agile and navigate the new daily challenges that they will face.These challenges could have millions of capital/NPV cost impact to a program and this leader needs to navigate methods to prevent or remediate these losses while communicating the risks to the key stakeholders.You will manage the challenges of defining the best-in-class technical solutions that build for tomorrow at affordable capital costs that deliver strong NPVs. You’ll also identify suppliers that can deliver the programs in a very competitive construction staffing market.This leader is the expert on the compliance rules for managing capital. This leader is challenged with building this capability and auditing sites and leaders to ensure compliance.This leader will enable the growth of the capacity of the brands across the globe at pace. You’ll touch every region and is enabling building the QSC plant infrastructure for the next 30 years. You’ll interface with leaders throughout the company across all functions and externally with global engineering and construction suppliers and government officials (purchase land, secure permits etc) to enable the expansions.This role is interfacing internally with the entire company/all the functions/all levels to communicate the scope and cost of the expansion programs, gain alignment, and provide ongoing status updates on the progress and support needed to successfully execute the investments. You’ll need to have the leadership and knowledge to represent Haleon externally when locking permits for construction of large programs. You’ll also partner with purchasing negotiating externally with equipment suppliers.
