About the Role

As the VP Technology you will drive the strategic direction of our Cirium technology teams. You will develop people and be responsible for leading the delivery of high quality and efficient software solutions that power data and analytics for customers. You will lead a team of over 150 comprised of FTE, contract and partner staff across core locations in the UK and India. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of our technology landscape. You teams will create and operate products and data solutions for customers, and systems that power the data creation, processing and management that sits at their heart.

You’re a leader. You have experience leading organizations large and small. You are as comfortable leading a meeting as you are leading the organization through a major change program. You understand how to build relationships within Technology and across the business in order to clear the path for your teams to get work done.

You have significant experience delivering high-quality, scalable, resilient and secure software products to customers.

Key Result Areas of the role

  • Engineering acceleration – drive engineering team effectiveness and productivity acceleration in our global engineering hubs in the UK and India. Singular global ways of working across the technology groups.

  • Deliver platform and solution developments – that customers love and can rely on. For data fabric systems that run Cirium data acquisition, creation and processing; and the customer surfaces that deliver data, insight and workflow through user interfaces, API and cloud databases.

  • Technology estate improvement – effective operational control improvements in cloud cost management driving a like-for-like reduction; Information security position of vulnerability count and speed of resolution. Lead rationalisation to reduce technical and product debt, bring disparate engineering fabric and pipelines together. Bring technical strength and rigor to decisions.

  • Drive Continued Transformation – To a platform-based business by aligning developments against a core architectural town plan of singular global technology components and common platform.

  • Cirium and Data Services – aligned delivery that actively contributes to reuse and convergence for Data Services and the LNRS division.

  • People – Relationship driven with a passion for staff development, diversity, and inclusion. Operating in a matrix structure. Own, drive and champion the engineering values and culture. Lead staff training and skills development.

  • Flexible and adaptable style – Instantly credible with technical staff and business leaders. Show infectious enthusiasm and expertise in software engineering. Situational in approach to relationships with stakeholders and team, and coaching of team members and able to get to result fast, while developing staff. Able to use high intellectual agility that fits the varied nature of the role, and situations each day.
