Your Role at Cabot:Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse, Packaging and Shipping (WPS) Superintendent to join our Sarnia Carbon Black Manufacturing Facility. Cabot is a leading player in the carbon black industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and sustainable solutions.We are seeking a skilled and motivated WPS Superintendent to lead our dynamic team consisting of 6 direct reports and ~30 indirect reports. This individual will contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing facilities and development of team culture. The WPS Superintendent will be responsible for WPS, Supply Chain, Logistics and Planning area operations to assure efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness with the best use of resources and promoting a high level of safety and environmental performance to meet all warehouse, packaging and shipping requirements.This is the ideal role for individuals who enjoy motivating and driving large teams towards business/site objectives, illustrating the ‘why’ behind business operations, working in a unionized environment and collaborating with both site staff as well as corporate staff at other Cabot sites.This role will work on-site at the Sarnia plant. How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Supervise, Direct and Coach employees– motivate and support the team to maintain and increase safety, efficiency and skills and promote a cooperative attitude. Coaches and trains employees to promote accountability and task performance to Cabot standards.
  • WPS Consistency & Improvement – continually work to improve warehouse consistency by monitoring and overseeing the entire process in fulfillment of orders, supporting WPS supervisors with personnel, equipment and mechanical issues, ensuring required recertifications on equipment are scheduled and executed, work with Supervisors to improve procedures and processes in WPS. Initiate opportunities and efforts to reduce equipment downtime and delays in packaging equipment and shipping processes.
  • Clear Communication – communicates clearly to external and internal customers. Works closely with Supply Chain, Transportation, Purchasing and account managers. Responds effectively in a timely manner to inquiries. Supports and provides resources for WPS Supervisors, Planning and Logistics and sets clear objectives and goals for the team.
  • Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standard business practices as they pertain to the WPS and inventory management functions, including internal control and ISO 9001 standards.

What You Will Bring to Cabot:

  • University degree/College diploma in Business or equivalent experience in logistics/warehousing/scheduling or holder of SCMP or CITT designations.
  • Minimum five years of practical experience (i.e. warehousing, logistics, shipping, production planning, scheduling, etc) in a WPS environment and sound knowledge of production processes.
  • Minimum of five years Supervisory or experience leading teams
  • Experience in management of union and non-union workforce
  • A self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize personal and project efforts in a fast paced and evolving environment
  • Knowledge of warehousing, logistics and transportation
  • Knowledge of inventory management and packaging procurement
  • Knowledge and ability in project co-ordination and execution
  • Knowledge of incident/near miss investigation and reporting procedures
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures
  • Knowledge of life critical procedures (i.e. confined space entry, lockout/tagout, hot-work etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, clear and concise, delivering with empathy to a broad range of stakeholders.
