The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions. The site CWB / ASME Welding Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of welders and welding operations in the Peterborough facility. The Welding Supervisor is responsible for: a) Ensuring that welding (performed in-house) is performed by qualified personnel to approved qualified procedures b) Supervising welding operations c) Maintaining a Welder / Brazer Log. This is a Working Leader position.What will you do?Your day to day:

  • Perform supervisory activities of Section IX welding As per ASME Section IX, QG-106
  • Is designated with responsibility for certifying qualification documents
  • Qualified by education, experience or training in the following areas: a. knowledge of the requirements of CWB and ASME Section IX for qualification of procedures and/or joining personnel. b. Knowledge of Westinghouse’s quality program c. The scope, complexity, or special nature of the activities to which oversight is to be provided.
  • Manages welding filler materials per ASME Sec III requirements.
  • Verifies that the Welder or Brazer is qualified for the procedure and position the Welder / Brazer intends to use by reviewing the List of Qualified Welders & Brazers b) Verifies that the QA Representative has accepted the weld / braze material, then c) Writes the traceability number of accepted welding / brazing materials onto the Manufacturing Process Instruction.
  • Read, analyze and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Possess working knowledge of layout, fitting, various type of welding techniques, metallurgy and engineering
  • Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the trade
  • Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum using SMAW or GMAW in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead, etc..)
  • Work safely in accordance with company safety policies and procedures

What will you bring?Who you are:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CWB certified welding supervisor
  • Red seal certified welder required
