Applications will not be considered where the application form has not been completed in full.If the role you are applying for involves regulated activity and you have been shortlisted for a first stage interview, you will be asked to fill out a Declaration of Offences Form.The role of the Women’s B team Assistant CoachBrentford FC has an exciting opportunity for a progressive and committed coach to join our women’s team set up on a part-time basis. They will assist the B team Head Coach focusing on player development and bringing through talented players ready to make the step up to the first team.The B Team currently plays in the Greater London Women’s Football League and has recently been promoted to the Greater London Premier Division, training and playing their home games at Bedfont Sports Club. Matches are mainly on Sunday afternoons.Main Accountabilities

  • Support the Head Coach with midweek evening training sessions (typically twice a week), squad selection and management for all games.
  • Motivate and develop the individual players to enable them to win games whilst working within the club’s coaching philosophy and style of play framework.
  • Support the Head Coach to identify individual strengths and weaknesses with the ability to apply appropriate coaching, and tactical development tailored to the individual player to achieve their full potential.
  • Provide input into the player development review meetings three times a season, along with individual meetings when needed.
  • Support the Head Coach with putting together the retain and release process for the squad at the end of each season working closely with the Technical Lead.
  • Ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through the appropriate channels.
  • Ensure a positive team ethic is maintained, and any conflicts are dealt with in a professional way in line with the club’s values.
  • Work collaboratively with all women’s team staff to support the delivery of the club’s goals and philosophy, including support required for pre and post-match interviews (where required) and other club initiatives aimed at building the women’s football fanbase.
  • Support team management and administrations tasks and ensure they are undertaken effectively, including matchday administration for the league and the management of equipment and players’ kit.
  • Any other relevant tasks and duties as directed by the women’s team Technical Lead or General Manager.

Person Specification – Essential Personal Characteristics

  • FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate
  • Some experience in coaching or supporting adult teams
  • FA Learning Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • FA Emergency Aid in Football Certificate
  • FA Safeguarding Certificate

Person Specification – Desirable Characteristics

  • UEFA ‘C’ Licence Coaching Certificate
  • FA Youth award
  • Previous experience of development of U18/U21 players
  • Previous experience of working with female adult and youth players
  • Good level of IT skills
