The Student Employees Division is seeking a Box Office Customer Service Representative. They will perform routine work in facilitating the box office ticket experience for patrons visiting the Rose Center for the Arts. This employee will report to the Rose Center for the Arts House Manager.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists House Manager in opening box office an hour before showtimes
  • Uses Ticketing Platform (Arts People) to sell tickets and look up patron information as needed
  • Manages the transaction of card and cash payments in a till
  • Uses Ticketing Platform to pull income reports for House Manager
  • Assists House Manager in counting attendees at doors before performance
  • Assists patrons entering and exiting theaters during performance
  • Assists House Manager in distributing programs to patrons during performances
  • Checks lobby and theaters after events to dispose of trash and collect lost items; coordinates with House Manager and Security to return lost items
  • Monitors audience and alerts House Manager and Security when needed
  • Answers box office phone, documents messages, and returns calls as needed
  • Assists House Manager with poster & flyer distribution on campus
  • Assists House Manager in the merging of duplicate customer accounts in Ticketing Platform
  • Maintains cleanliness of theaters, box office, and lobby areas
  • Assists with filing income reports, volunteer agreements, volunteer timesheets, and music library as needed

Paid Sick Leave

Student employees (work study and student help) accrue sick leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. A sick leave balance not to exceed 40 hours will be carried over into January each year.

On-site Childcare Center

The Early Learning Center is a state licensed program that offers high quality childcare for children ages 1 month through kindergarten entry to students, staff and faculty. The center is open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program is a participant of the Washington State Early Achievers quality rating and improvement system and rated a level 4-Quality Level of Excellence. Our teachers are trained in the Early Childhood Education field.

Social Security

All state employees are covered by the federal Social Security and Medicare systems. The state and the employee pay an equal amount into the system.
