Job descriptionWorkshop Manager – BristolSalary: £41,000 – £44,000 p/aMonday to Friday 8 am- 5.30pm with alternate Saturdays 8am – 1pmContract: Full-time and PermanentCarbase, a family-owned business and the largest independent pre-owned dealership in the South West with four stores and c.200 employees offering up to 3,000 vehicles.Recognised for excellence, we’ve received prestigious awards like the Great Place to Work and the People and Culture Award from Autotrader in 2023.Working closely with both the Service Advisors and Technicians, you will maximise the productivity, efficiency, and quality of the Bristol workshop and front-of-house duties when required.What you’ll be doing:

• Maximise workshop productivity, efficiency, and quality while handling front of house duties as needed.
• Plan and manage workshop schedules, ensuring technicians clock in and track jobs.
• Produce job cards for sold units, prioritise jobs, and manage booked-in jobs.
• Order and manage parts for jobs, ensuring timely and accurate orders, and promptly return unused parts.
• Process warranty claims promptly and check job card write-ups for warranty and customer invoices.
• Provide technical explanations to customers and update them on job progress.
• Control consumables, oversee health and safety, and maintain stock management.
• Work closely with the front of house team to ensure excellent communication and support.
• Contribute to company goals and assist in hiring top team members.

What you’ll need:

• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience working in a multi-franchise workshop.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organise and coordinate with multiple teams.
