Both the OECD and the IEA seek opportunities to work with an increasing number of non-members of growing importance to the world economy.The Directorate of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks takes the lead on energy modelling, sustainability, encompassing energy technology policy and energy-related climate change policy. The Directorate is responsible for major analytical reports including long-term scenarios, technology roadmaps and other high-level publications including the World Energy Outlook report.Within the Directorate, the Tracking Sustainable Transitions Unit is responsible for several key analytical areas and a principal contributor to flagship reports such as the World Energy Outlook. The Unit leads modelling and analysis on a variety of topics at the intersection of energy transitions and broader economic, social, and environmental dynamics. Key topics include energy access, energy transitions in Africa, energy employment, affordability, climate resilience, and policy tracking. There are around 20 people in the Unit.Job DescriptionRoleThe Young Associate would work on projects to help design energy roadmaps, financing plans, and carry-out other analytical outputs related to energy access and energy transitions in developing countries. They will also support on tasks in the Unit’s other analytical areas to enable them to expand their knowledge across a range of energy topics. They will report directly to the Head of the Tracking Sustainable Transition Unit.Main ResponsibilitiesResearch, analysis and drafting
